Rock & Roll

So this is what ten tons of river rock looks like. That's about 7 cubic meters or 250 cubic feet of rock. Since I can carry about 12 shovels full in my wheelbarrow, or about 3 cubic feet, that's about 83 wheelbarrow trips and 1,000 shovels full of gravel. No wonder my back hurts.
I figured nice three-foot pathways between and around each box. I ran a line (orange stakes and string) and dug up the perimeter before installing green metal edging and landscape cloth.

I then laid down four inches of river rock. This I surrounded by more landscape cloth topped with cedar chips.

Spoiler alert! Yes, we have begun building a fence, but the project has been delayed by constant rain. More on this project later.
